ROGER GLOSSOP
Roger trained at Wimbledon School of Art and started his design career at the Crucible Theatre Sheffield. He has worked for many years with Alan Ayckbourn designing over 65 productions for him. West End includes: Henceforward with Jane Asher, Woman In Mind with Julia McKenzie, Man of the Moment with Michael Gambon, Revengers’ Comedies with Griff Rhys Jones & Joanna Lumley, Things We Do for Love with Jane Asher, By Jeeves (the Ayckbourn/Lloyd Webber musical), The Nerd with Rowan Atkinson, the European premiere of Chicago, Song & Dance with Marti Webb, Arturo Ui with Griff Rhys Jones, Annie get Your Gun with Suzi Quatro. Royal Shakespeare Company: Wildest Dreams, Old Year’s Eve, Indigo. National Theatre: Pied Piper, Mandragola, Rosmersholme, ‘Tis Pity She’s A Whore, House & Garden, Mr A’s Amazing Maze Plays, the Magic Olympical Games, Two Weeks with the Queen, Invisible Friends. International work: productions at The Royal Flemish Theatre - Brussels, Cameri Theatre - Tel Aviv, Schiller Theatre - Berlin, and in the USA: Kennedy Centre - Washington, Geffen Theatre - LA, Goodspeed Opera House-Connecticut, Merle Reskin - Chicago, Helen Hayes Theatre - NYC, 59E59 - NYC, La Mama - NYC. For the Old Laundry Roger has designed: Talent (co-production with the Menier Chocolate Factory), Taking Steps, The Hired Man, Sherlock, Meeting Bea, By Jeeves and Where is Peter Rabbit?(Old Laundry, West End) Films: Roger has recently written and directed 5 short films: The Laying Up, Oh Stay Oh Stay, Luppo, Ghosts Don’t Shave and It’s A Wonderful Place Where You Are Now and is now editing his new short film L’Annonce. Exhibitions: Roger co-designed The World of Beatrix Potter Attraction in Bowness on Windermere with Elaine Garrad and Richard Jarvis, and with Elaine co-designed The Wind In the Willows, Henley upon Thames. He is a director and co-trustee of the Old Laundry Theatre.
